Description:
Building Inspection Underwriters of PA, seeks to hire a UCC Certified Building Inspector in Erie County, Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities
· Perform a full range of inspection and evaluation of commercial & residential construction, which may include complex structural and non-structural components, including plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection systems for compliance with the PA UCC, other applicable regulations, and approved plans and specifications.
· Compile, analyze, and evaluate findings of investigations and inspections, and issue standard construction and occupancy permits and approve final inspection certificates.
· Maintains clear, concise, and comprehensive records and reports related to inspection activities.
Job Requirements:
· Current certifications with the PA UCC
· A valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Deal with the public tactfully and courteously. Deal effectively & firmly with building contractors, foreman, and others
· Support municipal departments as necessary
· Comprehend complex regulations and communicate them clearly and concisely to others
· Team player orientation with ability to work well with clients and co-workers
· Problem-solving skills
· Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Education & Specific Experience:
· High School Diploma or GED equivalent
