Assists with inspection of property for compliance to applicable property maintenance, land development code standards and Federal housing quality standardsUNDER GENERAL SUPERVISION
Operates office equipment
Assists with inspection of properties to determine violations of applicable code and standards and documents code violations
Participates in in-house training programs
Assists with the property owners, agents or other interested parties and makes contact to verify property ownership and responsibilities, discuss code violations, code enforcement actions, and intended remedies
Assists with court and administrative hearing inspections
Assists with monitoring the existence of rodent infestation and bait property to eliminate rodent and mosquitoes infestations
Prepares daily activity reports and maintains records of pending re-inspections
Establishes and maintains effective relationships with property owners, occupants, agents, contractors, representatives from other agencies, and the public
Assists with letters, notices, penalties, and orders to vacate, etc., as required in the inspection process
Performs related work
Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work
Communicates with individuals in person and utilizes all types of communication media
Spends prolonged periods of time sitting, standing, walking, carrying, stooping and climbing
Lifts and carries items weighing up to 75 pounds
Visually conducts inspections upon successful completion of in-house training program and field evaluationHigh school diploma or the equivalent
Six months experience in building trades, property management, fire science technology, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or a related field
Must wear safety equipment as mandated by OSHA
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Must work a varied schedule
Successful completion of a nationally recognized certification program for property maintenance code enforcement or the equivalent or obtain within six months of employment
Successful completion of an in-house training program and field evaluation within three months of employmentU51

Code Compliance Officer
Responds to inquiries from City staff, elected officials and the general public regarding ordinance requirements, code violations and appropriate corrective action.
