Collateral Appraiser conducts commercial real estate appraisals and property ratings to establish the market value generally used for investment guidance, lending, insurance, or other purposes. Follows standard processes for conducting and documenting on-site property inspections. Being an Collateral Appraiser performs data collection and research on building permits, prior assessments, and relevant market and economic conditions that impact property value. Reviews building plans and specifications and investigates the quality of the construction, the overall condition of the property, and the surrounding location. Additionally, Collateral Appraiser uses generally accepted appraisal practice concepts and practices to perform data analysis, develop valuation estimates, and write comprehensive reports and exhibits. Utilizes appraisal software tools and databases. Ensures that reports comply with required policies, formats, and regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. May require the Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI) or similar designation. Requires a State Appraiser License. Typically reports to a manager. The Collateral Appraiser occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Financial Accountant - Derivatives and Collateral

  • About this role:

    Wells Fargo is seeking a Financial Accountant that will play a significant role in the compilation and critical review of derivatives and collateral information that is included in SEC and regulatory filings. This role requires an ability to evaluate complex reporting requirements, the ability to define the data elements required to satisfy those reporting requirements and, in some cases, to perform complex calculations on accounting information to generate the requested derivatives information. The individual should possess strong analytical skills, experience with financial reporting tools like SQL, Essbase, Iris and Microsoft Excel and a sound understanding of control requirements over financial reporting. Experience in data analytics and general accounting for derivatives is desired.


    In this role, you will:

    • Provide consultation to more experienced leadership for financial accounting related matters
    • Perform complex activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts, developing financial statements and regulatory reports
    • Gather and review financial data for financial and regulatory reports
    • Review data from the general ledger, unit reports and various financial systems to ensure accuracy
    • Prepare and review account reconciliations and certifications
    • Analyze projects relating to financial accounting procedures, methods or systems
    • Perform ongoing financial control functions in accordance with internal controls policies
    • Provide functional advice and training to individuals
    • Provide support for compliance and risk management requirements
    • Collaborate and consult with stakeholders throughout the enterprise


    Required Qualifications, US:

    • 2 years of Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting or Risk Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


    Desired Qualifications:

    • Derivatives product knowledge
    • SQL experience
    • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access) and/or Alteryx skills
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to strategically analyze data and diagnose opportunities and interventions
    • Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, production environment while balancing multiple priorities
    • Superior project management skills including the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
