Collateral Appraiser conducts commercial real estate appraisals and property ratings to establish the market value generally used for investment guidance, lending, insurance, or other purposes. Follows standard processes for conducting and documenting on-site property inspections. Being an Collateral Appraiser performs data collection and research on building permits, prior assessments, and relevant market and economic conditions that impact property value. Reviews building plans and specifications and investigates the quality of the construction, the overall condition of the property, and the surrounding location. Additionally, Collateral Appraiser uses generally accepted appraisal practice concepts and practices to perform data analysis, develop valuation estimates, and write comprehensive reports and exhibits. Utilizes appraisal software tools and databases. Ensures that reports comply with required policies, formats, and regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. May require the Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI) or similar designation. Requires a State Appraiser License. Typically reports to a manager. The Collateral Appraiser occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Responsibilities:

    • Travel to loss sites and conduct thorough inspections of properties.
    • Write accurate estimates to capture the extent of damages.
    • Settle claims promptly and fairly, adhering to customer policies.
    • Communicate empathetically with customers, guiding them through the claim process.
    • Negotiate claim settlements in accordance with established methodologies.
    • Work in various environments, including independent and team settings, and virtual platforms.
    • Handle claims, collaborate with vendors, and communicate with customers from home.
    • Participate in online meetings and trainings, being on camera as required

    Qualifications:

    • 1 year of experience writing auto damage estimates.
    • Experience with CCC1 or other estimating software.
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong communication skills and ability to clearly document and communicate the basis for decisions made
    • Excellent written skill that demonstrate clear, profession and succinct communication for file documentation, internal communications and external correspondence
    • Strong organization and time-management skills
    • Courteous and professional telephone communications
    • Ability to work in a team environment and maintain calm demeanor even during heated circumstances
