The Jewelry Assistant for Marissa Collections is responsible for supporting the Jewelry Manager, Jewelry Operations Assistant, and Stylists in achieving department and store goals. They must possess the ability to assist in generating and closing sales to achieve overall goal on a monthly basis. Responsibility also includes building strong relations with Vendors, Designers, Store Management, and Stylists. Responsible for assisting with daily operations and management of jewelry department as detailed below.
Merchandising:
• In partnership with Buyer, manages floor presentation by designer and key items maintaining visual presentation for bottom line sales growth. Know and maintain jewelry backstock in the vault and communicate vendors/styles to the team.
• Ensure all visual standards, including jewelry, cases, fixtures & cleanliness.
• Plan in advance the rotation of merchandise based on trunk/event schedule.
• Create and share product knowledge for Stylist presentations on seasonal trends by designer and/or client opportunities
People Development:
• Participate with buyer in product knowledge training, including GIA.
• Motivate stylists and deliver productive coaching on a daily basis
• Participate along with buyer in team building activities to support and develop a teamwork atmosphere
• Strong daily communication with Jewelry Manager
Operational Responsibilities:
• Opening merchandising and closing (packing) jewelry
• Physical Inventory, photo counting, discrepancies, negative on hands
• Quality controls and checking of merchandise, repairs & transfers
• POS standards maintained
• Adhere to policy and procedure guidelines
• Loss prevention standards maintained and followed
• Assist in ringing sales, special orders and trunk show sales
• Client follow up, including repairs (process incoming and outgoing)
• Participate in day-to-day operations
• Ringing sales for all departments. Utilize Retail Pro
• Help stylists with Fine Jewelry questions
• Vendor communication follow-up on orders, deliveries, repairs, packaging needs
• Trunk Show packing/unpacking and reconciliation
• Piercing event and permanent jewelry event execution
• Trunk show recaps
• Maintain fine jewelry lead list
• Certificates of Authenticity
• Maintain collateral organization in back room (ie. Vendor packaging, safe organization)
• Maintain fixture organization
• Communicate designer nameplate needs to operations team
• Assist in cleanliness and maintaining standards in jewelry gallery
