    Position Description

    The YMCA of Greater Montgomery is seeking an innovative, strategic and community minded individual to serve as its next CEO. The CEO will build trust and extend the breadth and depth of the YMCA’s reach across our service area. The CEO will lead collaborative efforts to grow and maintain productive working relationships in the community that enhances our reputation and furthers our mission and impact.

    This position requires a servant-leader attitude, who demonstrates great communication skills, and an ability to work in harmony with others. This leader should also be committed to working in partnership with staff, community stakeholders, and other business leaders.

    Qualifications

    Criteria for candidates:

    1.Accredited 4-year college degree or equivalent experience.

    2.Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and personal values consistent with the YMCA mission.

    3.Minimum five years prior experience in a senior management role with a YMCA or related experience at a comparable organization with direct supervision of multiple levels of staff and employees.

    4.Must have the ability to develop and strengthen community relationships.

    5.Have the ability to develop new programs, review and enhance programs being offered or considered for both economy and the effectiveness in broadening our engagement in the communities in which we serve.

    6.Strategic planning and Fundraising experience including annual campaigns and the securing of grants.

    7.Fiscally sound business management approach.

    8.A proven track record of progressive budgetary leadership and advanced fiscal management practices.

    9.YMCA Organizational Leader Certification or ability to achieve within 3 years.

    Fiscal Management: Use high-level financial analysis to forecast financial trends, growth and stability, while consistently leading organization to balance or surplus operations by growing earned revenue and contributions and controlling costs.     Nestled on the banks of the Alabama River and known as the Capital of Dreams, Montgomery is a city rich in history, yet clearly focused on the future with lots to see and enjoy – site for some of the most influential events in the Civil Rights Movement and the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the Dexter Avenue King Memorial Church and others. Montgomery has a large military presence, due to Maxwell Air Force Base. It has three public universities (Alabama State University, Troy University (Montgomery campus), and Auburn University at Montgomery), two private post-secondary institutions (Faulkner University and Huntingdon College), high-tech manufacturing (particularly Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama), minor league baseball, and many cultural attractions, such as the Alabama Shakespeare Festival (one of the top 10 Shakespeare theatres in the Country), the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, and the National Memorial for Peace and Justice. Montgomery features a revitalized downtown area. The newly opened Montgomery Whitewater recreation park provides a whitewater river experience within walking distance of downtown Montgomery. With comparable cost of living to other southern states, Montgomery is a diverse community a short drive from Birmingham, Atlanta, and Nashville and., close to area beaches and just over three hours from the white sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico.

    Salary Range: $220,000- $250,000 annually

    Benefits: Retirement contribution, vacation plan, health plan and other benefits per personnel policy included

    • 12% retirement paid by YMCA of Greater Montgomery upon eligibility
    • Health, dental and vision insurance with 50% of family health paid by YMCA of Greater Montgomery, 75% of health for individuals paid by Y
