Commercial Credit Analyst collects, reviews, and analyzes data to prepare a detailed credit analysis that evaluates the terms and creditworthiness of commercial loan applications. Uses multiple sources of information, including financial statements, collateral appraisals, credit scores, and cash flow analysis, to assign risk ratings to loans and complete an analysis of the applicant's financial status. Being a Commercial Credit Analyst calculates debt-to-income (DTI) ratios to evaluate an applicant's ability to repay the loan. Prepares credit memos in a standardized format that includes key ratios, supporting information, an executive summary, and objective recommendations. Additionally, Commercial Credit Analyst presents credit reports to loan officers and loan committees. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Commercial Credit Analyst work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Primary Functions: Underwrite consumer loan requests.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent
Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: N/A
Experience/Skills: One-year experience with this credit union in a problem-solving capacity, or underwriting consumer loans, which routinely calls for independent decision making in a high volume, fast-paced environment. Must have knowledge of all consumer lending regulations. Must have ability to adapt to a variety of situations, processing a high volume of work with attention to detail. Must have ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically.
Tenure: Consumer Lending Credit Analyst I, II, III and Senior, Category 12, 11, 10 and 9, respectively, requires meeting proven acceptable performance standards as established by management. Directly related work experience and/or accelerated training completion may be substituted for tenure.
Consumer Lending Credit Analyst Trainee (Category 13)
Salary Pay Range: $44,803 - $66,309 annually. Starting base salary will be determined based on candidate experience, qualifications, education, and local or state wage requirements, if applicable and will fall within the range provided above.
In accordance with our Salary Administration policy, new hire base salaries generally fall within the minimum to midpoint of the listed range.
