Primary Purpose Of Job

Collaborates with business partners in Commercial Markets, Business Banking, Credit and Technology to (i) properly administer Commercial Loans for ASB, and (ii) leverage loan systems and technology tools to maximize efficiency in the commercial loan function.

Major Job Accountabilities

• Understands commercial loan processes from end-to-end and its impact on ASB, including underwriting, portfolio management and regulatory reporting.  
• Understands and optimizes loan systems, applications, and related technology tools; may serve as one point of contact to coordinate, test and implement system changes and releases, including communicating changes and providing training to impacted teams.
• Collaborates with business partners to administer commercial loans in accordance with laws, regulations, regulatory guidance, internal procedures, and processes to meet SOX and auditing requirements.  This will include:
  1. Reviewing and processing commercial and construction related loan transactions, including but not limited to documentation and servicing of such loans.  
  2. Fulfilling servicing requests from customers for business loans and responds to inquiries and research requests from customers, taxing authorities, insurance entities, vendors and other loan servicing departments.   
  3. Coordinating and assisting with the preparation of management, accounting and compliance reports.
  4. Supporting ASB efforts during compliance and regulatory reviews, exams and audits.
  5. Providing Quality Control reviews of other Commercial Loan Support Services teammates.
  6. Performing monitoring duties to ensure safety and soundness of the commercial loan portfolio.
• Leverages system applications and technology tools to identify opportunities to improve end-to-end commercial operations processes and workflows in collaboration with other business units to improve customer experience and efficiency and adapt to alternate channels such as online and mobile banking.
• Understands and adheres to regulatory and compliance requirements as well as risk management concepts to ensure safety and soundness of commercial loan portfolio.
• Serves as back-up and support for department managers and teammates.

Experience Required

• Two (2) years of work experience in commercial and/or small business loan documentation and servicing. 
• Two (2) years of experience in commercial markets or commercial credit may be accepted in lieu of documentation experience.  

Required Skills Or Training

• Able to adapt to new ways of working and learn new technology/procedures quickly.
• Ability and desire to understand the entire life cycle of the commercial loan and its impact on ASB.
• Ability to understand and review loan and entity-related documents for accuracy, compliance, and other requirements.
• Able to work effectively and efficiently, as well as assess, prioritize, and manage multiple works streams to meet deadlines.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem resolution skills.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with others, including business partners and regulators. 
• Exhibits leadership traits and serves as a role model for teammates.
• Knowledge of the CreditQuest, LaserPro Documentation and Fiserv systems highly desired.
• Maintains a positive demeanor and handles difficult situations in a professional manner.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and banking applications.
• Self-directed with the ability to complete daily assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
