  • Our client is seeking to fill a Hybrid Remote Commercial Loan Workout Officer role located near either Austin, McAllen or Laredo, TX.  The position is responsible for meeting with clients, performing collections calls and/or correspondence in a goal-oriented environment on delinquent C&I, CRE and SBA borrowers.

    This opportunity has a base salary of up to $90K generous bonus and full benefits package. Some travel required.

    Commercial Loan Workout Officer responsibilities include:

    • Providing portfolio management of assigned commercial customers.
    • Working with assigned portfolio clients to coordinate the accumulation of all information required to perform reviews.
    • Communicating regularly and effectively with borrowers that are seriously delinquent to identify and counsel them on the best workout options available.
    • Reviewing loan files to ensure the completeness of the file and that all collateral has been secured properly.
    • Negotiate workouts with all involved parties (borrowers, guarantors, SBA, and any other participants, etc.) from initial workout request to final close of workout.
    • Preparing credit presentations/memos as appropriate related to portfolio clients including financial and collateral analysis.
    • Recommending risk rating changes as appropriate.
    • Providing customer service regarding collection issues.
    • Researching delinquent accounts including documentation and file review and coordinate the optimum method to ensure receipt of payments.
    • Resolving customer discrepancies and short payments.
    • Ensuring through constant monitoring the potential accounts that could become non-accruing and/or require specific reserve allocations through the impairment process are identified and managed.
    • Ensuring all credit and collection policies, procedures, practices, and documentation meet federal and state regulations.
    • Performing other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.

    You also bring the following skills and experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
    • Four or more years of Portfolio Manager experience in managing commercial loan accounts, preferably SBA loans.
    • Advanced knowledge of SBA loan structuring, underwriting, documentation, credit, and credit risk management.
    • Experience in identifying documentation risks, addresses, and /or negotiating them to resolution as well as determining when to elevate risk situations to the appropriate individuals.
    • Formal Credit Training is preferred.
    • Highly accurate data entry skills and strong level of skill working with a variety of PC and internet applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and the ability to navigate key industry specific Internet sites.
    • Strong multi-tasking, time management, thoroughness, and accuracy skills required.
    • Solid communication and organizational skills with focus on teamwork and cooperation.
    • A high level of confidentiality is required.
    • Working knowledge of federal and state banking regulations.
    • Ability to work under deadlines with frequent interruption.
