Summary
The Residential Loan Processor/Closer is responsible for the collection and preparation of all loan applications for mortgages, home equity and consumer products, as well as the loan closing process and ensuring efficiency to include preparing and reviewing loan closing documents. This position ensures the accuracy and completeness of all required documents, manages, and resolves any concerns, problems, and documentation issues associated with loan closings. The Loan Processor/Closer acts as an intermediary between all parties involved in residential and consumer loan transactions. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Preparing, copying, and issuing commitment and expiration letters for all loan applications.
- Reviewing loan file documentation for missing or incorrect information.
- Preparing loan files for underwriting.
- Ordering flood determinations at time of commitment and tracking the order until received.
- Ordering third party verifications, i.e., employment, deposit, rental information.
- Preparing good faith estimates and Truth in Lending Disclosures.
- Assigning bank attorneys and ordering title fees.
- Verifying residential/home equity customer for OFAC compliance.
- Assisting the Loan Officers with requests and tasks needed to complete and process applications.
- Issuing closing disclosures for residential mortgage closings in accordance with TRID requirements.
- Answering customer inquiries regarding closing requirements.
- Preparing closing documents and reviewing for accuracy and compliance.
- Acting as the primary liaison between attorneys and the bank to resolve closing related issues, scheduling loan closings, and closing loans.
- Monthly reconciliation of residential closing accounts.
- Uploading closing disclosure data to Freddie Mac's Uniform Closing Dataset (UCD) and resolving any issue notes.
- Producing and monitoring carious monthly loan production and closing reports.
- Maintaining a current, accurate, and detailed procedure manual for residential loan closing.
- Filing, typing, and other routine clerical functions as required and assigned.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Education and Certification Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience and Qualifications: 1-2 years of banking experience. Experience using Encompass LOS, LaserPro, and CSI/NuPoint preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with analytical and organizational skills, customer service experience, ability to work independently and as a team. Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. A good understanding of loan application policies and procedures, as well as documentation required by underwriters and government agencies when needed. Willingness to become proficient in new technology platforms as implemented by the bank. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
