    POSITION PURPOSE

    Supports the daily processes of the Lending Department including consumer, indirect, and mortgage lending as needed. Responsible for accurately processing various types of loans. Works in compliance with relevant state and federal lending laws. Professionally assists and serves members and third party partners.


    Requirements

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

    Assumes responsibility for the effective performance of lending support functions.

    • Quality control review of loan files where a loan has recently closed at one of our indirect dealer partner locations. Checks all necessary paperwork, signatures, warranties, interest rates, collateral, etc. against the loan origination system (LOS) for accuracy.
    • Ensures the accuracy and proficiency of each loan processed by making sure that each loan is properly documented, disbursed, closed, coordinated and filed within a timely manner.
    • Researches discrepancies noticed in the loan paperwork and sees that a correction is made where warranted.
    • Corresponds with members, dealers, and third party vendors regarding member loan applications and loan documents.
    • Processes weekly loan letters to our indirect members, to include running a report, creating the letter, printing the letter, gathering the disclosures and preparing the envelopes.
    • Answers Del-One staff and member inquiries on loan approvals, denials, balances, payoffs, etc.
    • Handles dealer supply requests as needed.
    • Updates reports relative to loan processing including indirect funded reports, ACH reports, and dealer reserve reports, etc.
    • Prints and mails adverse action letters for all declined loan applications.
    • Assists other Lending team members as needed or assigned.

    Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective and professional business relationships with members.

    • Addresses members’ requests and questions promptly and courteously.
    • Informs members and dealers of Credit Union policies and services. Provides routine information for accounts.
    • Maintains the Credit Union’s quality and professional reputation.

    Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination and communication with Lending personnel and with management.

    • Assists and replaces Lending personnel as needed.
    • Attends and participates in meetings as required.
    • Keeps management informed of Lending activities and of any significant problems.

    Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.

    • Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
    • Keeps informed regarding policy and procedure changes.
    • Actively and professionally cross-sells Credit Union services.

    PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

    • Good business relations exist with members. Problems and questions are courteously and promptly resolved. Assistance is provided as needed.
    • Interviewing, documentation, and provision of Credit Union services are completed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
    • Documents, records, and miscellaneous typing tasks are accurately, neatly, and promptly completed.
    • Files are updated and well maintained.
    • Good working relationships exist with Lending personnel and with management. Lending personnel are assisted as needed.
    • The Credit Union’s professional reputation is maintained and conveyed.


    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High school graduate or equivalent

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

    • General knowledge of Credit Union consumer loan products and services
    • Understanding of loan interview procedures

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Previous experience with a full-service financial institution helpful

    SKILLS/ABILITIES:

    • Good organization skills and attentive to detail
    • Proficient typing abilities
    • Able to operate related computer applications and related business equipment
    • Cooperative, able to coordinate well with others

    MATHEMATICS ABILITY: Ability to perform basic math skills and to use decimals to compute ratios and percents, and to draw and interpret graphs

    LANGUAGE ABILITY:

    • Ability to use a passive vocabulary of 5-6,000 words; to read at a slow rate; define unfamiliar words in dictionaries for meaning, spelling, and pronunciation
    • Ability to write compound and complex sentences, using cursive style, proper punctuation, and employ adjectives and adverbs
    • Ability to communicate in complex sentences; using normal word order with present and past tenses; using a good vocabulary
