Summary: As a Commodity Intern for Green Plains Inc., you will be placed in the heart of the action and be exposed to multiple facets of the company. You will research, develop, and present a summer project to the executive staff at the close of the summer internship. Responsibilities:

• Attend daily morning meetings with trade floor members and executive team to discuss the company’s position in the markets
• Prepare numerous reports including, but not limited to: corn and feed contracts, market drivers, position summaries, margin evaluations, etc.
• Understand the supply and demand in the market place by performing individual research and gaining knowledge during company meetings
• Network with and shadow current employees to develop a higher level understanding of the markets and the industry
• Perform extensive research for group projects and create executive level presentations
• Assist in other duties as needed and directed

Qualifications:

• Studies towards a Bachelor’s degree required. Preference will be given to those with studies in Business Administration, Agriculture, or Agribusiness
• Sophomore standing and above with GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Preference given to those with experience and knowledge in grain/agriculture industry
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be technically capable of using a personal computer and a range of software applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
• Detail oriented and self-motivated
• Ability to work independently with urgency and deadlines
• Good organizational skills for multi-tasking and prioritizing workloads
• Maintain positive professional relationships, both internal and external
• Demonstrate business acumen and leadership skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
