Being a Communications Director may conduct market or public opinion research to assess program outcomes. Suggests promotional campaign ideas in various types of media, as well as counsels top management on effective communication strategies. Additionally, Communications Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Communications Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Minimum Qualifications
B.S. or B.A. degree in Communications, Journalism, English or a related discipline plus three years of related professional experience:
Experience in Microsoft software applications.
Experience in video/photo editing software.
Experience in social media management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Must be able to create compelling copy, and have excellent digital skills for still images, graphics, and video. A perceptive sense of digital marketing and assessment is required, as is the ability to manage and stay current with social media, web content, news and design trends. Self-direction as well as collaboration skills are critical to the success of this position, and the ability to successfully respond to constantly shifting priorities is essential. Must have the ability to travel, including overnight travel, a valid driver's license; and proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
