Being a Communications Editor reviews artwork and verifies facts. Ensures all work follows editorial policies and standards. Additionally, Communications Editor maintains company's identity, design standards, and policies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Communications Editor work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a Communications Editor typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. The Editor is responsible for leading editing and writing efforts to ensure all York College content ? digital and printed ? is accurate, interesting, and supports and shares the mission and vision of the College.
Requirements:
The candidate should have a bachelor's degree in a related field (i.e., communications, journalism, English) and five years of writing and editing experience. They should possess strong interpersonal, writing, and editing skills; the ability to write stories and create publications that speak to a variety of constituents; the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects; and the ability to work effectively and independently with internal and external constituencies.
