Community Development Manager manages the economic development lending activities to support or subsidize improvements in the community. Ensures company visibility is established in the area and promotes relationships with groups, agencies, and organizations in the community to identify lending and other business development opportunities. Being a Community Development Manager evaluates the current and future credit needs of the community and develops a strong understanding of the local issues and needs. Actively monitors public programs that support community development initiatives. Additionally, Community Development Manager initiates policy changes or enhancements to ensure compliance with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and other regulations. Makes recommendations to expand and develop lending programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Community Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Community Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Community and Referral Relations Manager

  • Reporting to the Vice President of Community Engagement, the Community and Referral Relations Manager supports community access to the full spectrum of CHD services and supports CHD’s efforts to be more directly and effectively connected with the needs of all the communities it serves.

    Primary responsibilities:

    • Serves as a primary point of contact for other clinical and social-services providers as well as government referral partners, facilitating program admissions and other access to services.
    • Identifies and addresses acute and chronic challenges to access, improving or instituting processes to promote access to appropriate services. Liaises with CHD program leadership and staff to calibrate capacity to external demand and support efforts to make CHD services responsive to need in the external environment.
    • Partners with Marketing and Community Engagement staff to develop and deploy strong community-facing and responsive presence and materials.
    • Maintains strong bilateral communication and follow-up with referring providers, strengthening continuity of care.
    • Builds and maintains new relationships with potential referral sources, assessing and developing input on the best way to meet needs and strengthen the health and wellbeing of populations in need.
    • Supports and attends community events as appropriate, representing CHD in a positive manner and exercising strong judgment and supporting decision making about the most important events and presence in all communities served. Supports and facilitates engagement by other CHD staff in community events.

    Core competencies:

    • 5-7 years of business development and/or operations experience in a human services or healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of referral, intake and payment/reimbursement methodologies.
    • Entrepreneurial inclination with comfort and confidence in pursuing and establishing new referral relationships. Comfort and urgency in addressing challenges, and skill in relationship management.
    • Growth mindset with ability to learn, assimilate and adapt to fluid professional environments. Strong emotional intelligence.
    • Comfort using data and metrics to drive actions in service of goals. Ability to course-correct as needed.
    • Responsiveness to customer needs and ability to synthesize solutions that meet needs of both ends of a relationship.
