Community Development Manager manages the economic development lending activities to support or subsidize improvements in the community. Ensures company visibility is established in the area and promotes relationships with groups, agencies, and organizations in the community to identify lending and other business development opportunities. Being a Community Development Manager evaluates the current and future credit needs of the community and develops a strong understanding of the local issues and needs. Actively monitors public programs that support community development initiatives. Additionally, Community Development Manager initiates policy changes or enhancements to ensure compliance with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and other regulations. Makes recommendations to expand and develop lending programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Community Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Community Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Berkshire Community College's development office seeks a well-organized, team-oriented person to join our expanding department in this key administrative role. This is a great opportunity for an individual with an eye for detail to support the fundraising efforts of the College and its related Berkshire Community College Foundation as we attract new donors and steward our loyal group of existing donors. Reporting directly to the Director of Development, this donor-focused role will work closely with other members of the Development team to achieve the best outcomes possible for donors, BCC and its Foundation.

    To be considered for this role, you must:
    Have the research skills needed to compile, analyze and present data and other information for senior leadership of the College and its Foundation, coupled with the ability to prepare and maintain complex interrelated files and records.
    Maximize utilization of a donor management software platform (currently Raiser's Edge NXT)
    Be able to connect and communicate with a diverse group of alumni, community partners and various constituencies of the College on behalf of the Director of Development and College President.
    Demonstrate strong communication skills, including drafting, editing and preparing materials for presentations.
    Be judicious, tactful and discreet, always maintaining confidentiality.
    Possess the skills needed to fully support the Development team, and the BCC Foundation Board, by capturing salient meeting information/minutes and creating and distributing follow-up action plans.
    Have general technology knowledge, including word processing, slide presentations, database management, spreadsheet compilation, expense reporting and corporate purchasing.
    Be able to schedule and manage calendars for the Development team consistent with the strategic needs for the College and its constituents and stakeholders.

    In this role you will:
    Manage development-related finances using Fund Driver and assist in processing gifts and/or accounts payable/receivable between the College and the BCC Foundation.
    Update donor database on a timely basis, with information gathered from multiple sources.
    Review and run weekly summary contact reports for development team and President.
    Create, document and maintain standard procedures for the Development Office.
    Research donors and donor prospects to maintain updated database.
    Organize and distribute information directly as requested by Director of Development and/or President or independently using common sense judgment and forethought.
    Compile confidential information and prepare PowerPoint presentations for speaking engagements, meetings and events with internal and external constituencies.
    Coordinate logistics and provide support for meetings and events both on and off campus.
    Staff events as needed to support registrations and check-in processes.
    Compile, manage and organize travel and expense reports processing and submitting reports for reimbursement.

    Job Requirements:
    3-5 years of experience providing high-level administrative support, with a strong preference for alumni/ fundraising related work
    Proficiency in Microsoft apps: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
    Experience with donor data base management software; comfortable learning new technologies
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects effectively and meet deadlines with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
    Ability to work collaboratively as a part of a team
    Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality
    Ability to work effectively in an environment that requires adherence to college, state and federal regulations, policies and procedures
    Ability to maintain an open and welcoming environment with diverse populations, while respectfully communicating and observing appropriate guidelines.
