Community Development Manager manages the economic development lending activities to support or subsidize improvements in the community. Ensures company visibility is established in the area and promotes relationships with groups, agencies, and organizations in the community to identify lending and other business development opportunities. Being a Community Development Manager evaluates the current and future credit needs of the community and develops a strong understanding of the local issues and needs. Actively monitors public programs that support community development initiatives. Additionally, Community Development Manager initiates policy changes or enhancements to ensure compliance with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and other regulations. Makes recommendations to expand and develop lending programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Community Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Community Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Your duties as the Community Development Manager will include:

    • Increase Girl Scouts visibility and engagement in our communities through networking and collaboration.
    • Build Girl Scout membership by focusing on the strengths of our communities and finding creative ways to reach all girls. 
    • Create and execute girl/adult membership recruitment and retention plans.
    • Develop strong working relationships with volunteers, support their success and recognize their commitment. 
    • Work directly with girls to deliver the Girl Scout program while modeling the program for volunteers.

    To be successful, you should have:

    • H.S. Diploma required, any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. 
    • Recruiting and managing volunteers experience is essential.
    • Experience in recruitment and/or sales preferred.
    • Background in community development, including school partnerships.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Valid state driver's license and a vehicle for work within the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio region.
