Community Development Manager manages the economic development lending activities to support or subsidize improvements in the community. Ensures company visibility is established in the area and promotes relationships with groups, agencies, and organizations in the community to identify lending and other business development opportunities. Being a Community Development Manager evaluates the current and future credit needs of the community and develops a strong understanding of the local issues and needs. Actively monitors public programs that support community development initiatives. Additionally, Community Development Manager initiates policy changes or enhancements to ensure compliance with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and other regulations. Makes recommendations to expand and develop lending programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Community Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Community Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Child Development Center Manager - Head Start

  • We are looking for a Child Development Center Manager to join our Head Start team at Coastal Community Action! CCA is a private nonprofit corporation providing a variety of services to a target population of low-income children and families in ten counties in eastern NC, with a mission of empowering them to become self-sufficient.

    The Center Manager is accountable for the overall operation of the Child Development Center (CDC) and includes planning, coordinating program activities and supervising center staff (i.e. classroom staff, Center Support Assistant) in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards and the North Carolina State Child Care Regulations.

    What You'll Do:

    • Supervise center staff in daily job functions, and document job performance; manages Child Development Center Assistant
    • Develop staff work schedules, monitor hours worked to avoid overtime, etc.
    • Act as a liaison between center staff and specialists, consultants and volunteers; and work to assure coordinated, cross-job functioning services
    • Responsible for overseeing the enrollment of children in the subsidized child care program; collect fees to be paid by individual families in accordance with state policy; submit required forms to the Department of Social Services and transmit all transactions to the agency’s finance department
    • Plan and conduct regular staff meetings
    • Attends IEP/IFSP conferences, meetings and staffing’s as needed
    • Assist in planning and coordinating monthly Parent Center Committee Meetings
    • Attends and participates in workshops, conferences, training, and meetings within and outside of the agency
    • Collaborate with Family & Community Engagement Manager for coordinating recruitment, enrollment and placement of children in classrooms
    • Meet with the Head Start Operations Manager as needed
    • Meet with the Mental Health and Disability Specialist as needed
    • Ensure all children have received required screening and developmental assessments and that parents have been encouraged to participate in the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process
    • Assure all classrooms are appropriately staffed and arrange for substitute coverage. Serve as classroom substitute if needed.
    • Ensure staff follow-up with children’s referrals and are documented on the Contact Notes/Resource Tracking Form in Galileo
    • Contacts parents for needed information for record-keeping, following up with parents and staff as needed related to the flow and accuracy of information.

    What You'll Have:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred with three or more years’ supervisory and managerial experience; Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood and/or Child Development required and five or more years supervisory and managerial experience.
    • Experience in childcare or social services-oriented environment performing managerial duties.
    • Strong organizational skills are required, including file management, information sharing, follow-up, and tracking records.
    • Valid background clearance.
