Community Development Representative implements the economic development lending activities to support or subsidize improvements in the community. Establishes and maintains relationships with groups and organizations in the community to identify lending and other business development opportunities. Being a Community Development Representative develops an understanding of public programs and community needs to ensure effective community outreach and support development. Represents the institution within the community and is a resource for information about products and services that are available. Additionally, Community Development Representative adheres to all operational procedures and complies with Community Reinvestment Act and other regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Community Development Representative occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Community Development Assistant Director

  • Four-Day Work Week (Monday to Thursday) 34 hours for Full Time Position

     

    Community Development Assistant Director - GLCAP Fremont Headquarters.

     

    Summary:   Manages the daily operations of the department and assists the Director with the on-going planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the department’s programs.  Direct and manage department operations in the absence of the Director.

     

    Education:

    Required Bachelor degree in a field of study related to social services or business management or equivalent. Master’s degree preferred. 

     

    Experience:

    Five to seven years’ experience Managing multiple programs in a non-profit environment.; five years supervisory experience; and five to seven years’ experience working with word processing, spreadsheet, internet, and database software.

     

    Additional Requirements:

    1. Initial and periodic Motor Vehicle Records checks, maintain a valid driver’s license, and maintain a safe driving record.
    2. Must have insured, dependable transportation available for daily use.
    3. Must submit to initial and/or periodic state and/or federal criminal checks.
    4. Must submit to initial and periodic drug and alcohol testing.
    5. Ability to be reached by cellular phone during business hours and after hours.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Direct and manage department operations in the absence of the Director.
    2. Manage the daily operations of the department ensuring consistency and compliance with program requirements.
    3. Supervise and facilitate the development and implementation of staff onboarding, professional development, marketing, community outreach, and technical assistance.
    4. Develop, maintain and update procedures and systems to ensure compliance with program requirements; provide troubleshooting and work with staff to implement process improvement recommendations.
    5. Assist Director with developing contracts.
    6. Analyze department reports and recommend necessary changes.
    7. Work with the Director to make organizational decisions and adjustments to attain program goals and maintain contract compliance including providing relevant information on services or other factors.
    8. Work with the Director to develop new strategic initiatives for department, prepare and monitor action plans to achieve strategic goals and assist with coaching, developing and monitoring progress of staff skills to meet goals.
    9. Assist with development of new initiatives and re-funding applications.
    10. Develop and maintain relationships and communication with partners.
    11. Other duties and responsibilities as directed by supervisor.

     

    Additional Responsibilities:

    1. Participate in the team process, both within the department and the corporation.
    2. Attend internal and external meetings.
    3. Pursue continuous education and professional development opportunities.
    4. Travel out-of-town with occasional overnight stays.
    5. Available to work in excess of scheduled work hours per week in order to fulfill position requirements.

     

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include the following:

    1. Interview, hire, and train employees.
    2. Plan, assign, and direct work.
    3. Appraise performance.
    4. Reward and discipline employees.
    5. Address complaints and resolve problems.
