    DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

    The Energy Outreach Enrollment Specialist is an entry level position that will interact with residential customers, so a strong sense of caring about people and the environment is important.

    You must demonstrate strong sales and marketing skills, in addition to an outgoing personality and attention to detail.

    The ideal candidate is skilled at uncovering customers’ needs, then following through with enlightening solutions, advising the customer, and setting up appointments for participation on the Energy Savings Programs.

    The Energy Outreach Specialist educates, determines eligibility, and enrolls middle and lower-income families to receive FREE utility-funded energy-saving improvements during in-home and virtual visits. The Specialist will also advise families on energy-saving improvements and practices. Full and part-time positions are available.

    Typical Job Responsibilities:

    Ability to, and a strong interest in educating community/customers on industry, products & services, financing options, rebates, and incentives.

    • Communicate with customers to verify program eligibility according to client guidelines.
    • Conduct field analysis of business sites for energy savings opportunities.
    • Inventory residential properties for all on-site lighting, HVAC, weatherization, light refrigeration, and electrical equipment as required.
    • Prepare and communicate survey results, cost/ energy savings, equipment with pricing options, calculations, ROI, other metrics and recommendations to customers.
    • Maintain customer database, prepare spreadsheets in Excel or Access and document customer contact information
    • Coordinate customer program schedules
    • Interface with Marketing Supervisor others as directed by FCI
    • This position performs other job-related duties as required

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    The successful candidate should have the following experience including, but not limited to:

    • Working knowledge of basic gas, water and electrical principals.
    • High School, GED, or Technical School; equivalent work experience in the electric/gas utility field will be considered.
    • Entry Level with one year or more of experience
    • Electrical or natural gas utility industry, facilities management, HVAC design or sales, commercial and industrial lighting, or conservation and energy management is preferred.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally, and in writing.
    • Organized, reliable, and pays attention to detail.
    • Flexible, ability to prioritize assigned tasks, work independently or with a minimum of supervision, and respond to deadlines effectively.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
    • Must be fluent and proficient in English; bilingual language proficiency is not necessary but is a plus.
