Typically reports to a top management. The Community Health Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     Description

    STRIDE Community Health Center is a 501(c)(3) Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with a 30-year history of providing primary care and other health-related services in a community-based setting. Established in 1989 in response to the primary health care needs of the medically indigent population in suburban Denver, STRIDE Community Health Center has the largest population base of any FQHC in Colorado and provides primary care, dental, pharmacy, behavioral health, health education, care coordination, patient navigation, pharmacy, and outreach and enrollment services in accordance with its mission.
     

    What will you be doing in this role? A successful candidate will:

    General Purpose: In order to ensure effective and efficient behavioral health services are delivered to patients throughout the STRIDE system, the Director of Behavioral Health provides vision and leadership in the creation and on-going development of the Behavioral Health service line and associated programs at STRIDE. This position is allocated .6 clinical FTE and .4 administrative FTE.

    Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Develop, oversee and continuously evaluate the scope of behavioral health services offered at STRIDE for maximization of patient impact, fiscal viability and best practice. Collaborate with clinical staff and other STRIDE department members to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of behavioral services to STRIDE patients.
    • Establish, develop and enhance the relationships that STRIDE has with behavioral health agencies in the service area, as well as manage memorandums of understanding and contractual obligations.
    • Provide direct administrative oversight to Behavioral Health Site Managers and mentorship/leadership for all behavioral health providers.
    • Develop and report measures of success of behavioral health programs.
    • Ensure legal and ethical compliance of behavioral health service delivery throughout STRIDE system.
    • Oversee nationally accredited psychology training program and Director of Clinical Training position.
    • Oversight of Medication Assisted Treatment and substance use disorder services, as well as SUD Services Lead position.
    • Provide direct patient care.

    Non-Essential Duties/Responsibilities

    • Attends all staff meetings and all other meetings as assigned.

    Knowledge, skill and ability:

    • Ability to demonstrate the capability to effectively and sensitively respond to the needs and concerns of the full range of STRIDEs diverse patient population.
    • Ability to collaborate and develop partnerships with STRIDE departments and other organizations.
    • Customer service skills, including the ability to diffuse upset patients.
    • Skill in using a variety of computer software including but not limited to the internet and MS Office Products.
    • Ability to handle sensitive information ethically and responsibly.
    • Ability to protect the confidentiality of patient, employee and business information.

    Education or Formal Training:

    • Doctoral degree from an accredited institution and active, unrestricted licensure in Colorado required (licensed psychologist).
    • Experience working in a non-profit health center preferred.

    Experience:

    • Minimum 2 year program management and leadership experience
    • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience
    • Minimum 4 years clinical service experience
    • Experience and success with program development and implementation
    • Experience working in an integrated primary care settings
    • Demonstrated knowledge or experience with mental health treatment modalities required.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience with substance abuse/dependence issues, treatment and paraprofessional support modalities required.

    Material and equipment directly used:

    Working environment/physical activities: Office environment within a clinical setting. Enters data into computer programs via computer, mouse and keyboard. Moves about the office environment and occasionally to other locations. Moves/transports objects up to 25 lbs occasionally. Communicates information to others. Discerns/analyzes information from others to assist in decision making.

    In an aim to help keep our patients, staff, and communities safe, STRIDE requires that all hired employees be fully COVID-19 vaccinated and to obtain an annual flu shot. STRIDE CHC employees are also required to be screened for tuberculosis and to complete a PPD test.
