Community Health Director is responsible for developing plans for community-based health programs aimed at the prevention of disease and promotion of health. Recommends community health initiatives, policy implications and best practices after reviewing health literature and statistics. Being a Community Health Director identifies community health program related grant funding and develops grant proposals. Manages specific community health programs from planning and design through implementation and evaluation. Additionally, Community Health Director requires a master's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a top management. The Community Health Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Starting salary: $66,300.00 annually. Will develop, direct, and coordinate the activities of Audubon Area community services programs. Will establish priorities, develop and manage budgets, and determine the agency's ability to accept and complete future program commitments. Will manage workloads and schedules, establish a schedule of duties for program supervisors, and review work reports, papers, and other records prepared by program staff for clarity, completeness, accuracy, and conformance with agency and program policies.
A bachelor's degree in social services, human services, business, management or a related field and a minimum of five years of experience in fiscal and program management is required. A master's degree is preferred. Must enroll to become a Certified Community Action Professional within four years of employment and obtain the accreditation with the allotted three years.
