Clinical Nurse Educator (Part Time)

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION/RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• The Clinical Nurse Educator assists director in the coordination of education and the operational needs of the department
• Coordinates and participates in the orientation process of new employees
• Assists with orientation curriculum development and instruction
• Develops and revises policies and procedures for pediatrics and PICU departments
• Coordinates and maintains patient/family/staff education programs
• Knowledgeable of and actively participates in Performance improvement
• Participates in the development and evaluation of annual competencies.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

• Graduate of approved School of Nursing, BSN preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 3 years experience working as a Registered Nurse and experience in Pediatric Critical Care.
• Ability to communicate with patient, family, peers and medical personnel
• Current State of Louisiana RN license: CPR certification, ACLS & PALS certification.
• National Certification preferred but not required in pediatrics or pediatric critical care.
• Trauma training required.
