Compensation and Benefits Director manages the design, implementation, administration, communication, and ongoing evaluation of the organization's compensation and benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Ensures that compensation and benefits programs support the organization's business objectives and meet all legal requirements. Being a Compensation and Benefits Director develops and manages compensation and benefits budgets. Oversees compensation processes, including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, base pay administration, incentive plan design and analysis. Additionally, Compensation and Benefits Director manages benefits planning and programs including health and welfare, retirement, and work life. May select and manage outsourced providers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Compensation and Benefits Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Compensation and Benefits Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     This position is located at our Administrative Office in Dothan, Alabama.
    Work hours are Monday-Thursday 8am-530pm and Friday 8am-12pm

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
    • Serves as the HR specialist of employee benefits to include but not limited to life insurance, health and dental insurance, RSA, etc.
    • Performs e-time maintenance in HRIS and prepares time, leave adjustments, etc. for payroll transmission
    • Establish and maintain employee human resource/payroll files in HRIS system
    • Assist the HR Dept. in a broad range of functions to include but not limited to processing performance appraisals, work comp, FMLA, drug screens, etc.
    • Conduct new hire orientation as needed
    • Some travel may be required
    ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
    • Knowledge of Human Resources federal and state laws to include but not limited to: FMLA, Worker’s Compensation, ADA, COBRA, etc.
    • Knowledge of human resources and functions to include but not limited to Benefits, Policies, Orientation processes, Drug Screen procedures, etc.
    • Ability to plan and organize work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans.
    • Knowledge and utilization of Human Resources Information Systems, Microsoft Office and functions.
    • Ability to work overtime, as needed, and travel locally. Must have valid driver’s license.
    • Skills in recording and in verbal/written communications.
    • Ability to make minor decisions in accordance with rules and regulations and apply these to work problems.
    • Ability to understand and follow moderately complex oral and written instructions.
    • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public.
    • Working knowledge of office practices and procedures to include computer program usage.
    • Skills in typing rapidly and accurately.
    • Ability to operate office machines (photocopy, calculator, etc.).
    • Ability to maintain departmental clerical records and prepare reports from such records.
    • Working knowledge of general accounting.
    • Ability to get along with others and manage work related stress to insure client/staff safety.
    • Ability to pass a drug screen when given to include but not limited to pre-employment, random, post-accident, suspicion, etc.
    • Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients i.e., not crossing professional boundaries to include but not limited to fraternization
    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human resources or related field with specialization in Human Resources.
    • Knowledge of HR Federal and State Laws
    • Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in human resources functions.
    • Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in benefit administration.
    • Experience in computers and working in HRIS database.
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
    • Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field with specialization in Human Resources or Business
    • Five or more years human resources experience with heavy emphasis on benefits administration.
    • HR Certification preferred
