Compensation and Benefits Director manages the design, implementation, administration, communication, and ongoing evaluation of the organization's compensation and benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Ensures that compensation and benefits programs support the organization's business objectives and meet all legal requirements. Being a Compensation and Benefits Director develops and manages compensation and benefits budgets. Oversees compensation processes, including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, base pay administration, incentive plan design and analysis. Additionally, Compensation and Benefits Director manages benefits planning and programs including health and welfare, retirement, and work life. May select and manage outsourced providers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Compensation and Benefits Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Compensation and Benefits Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.   • GENERAL NATURE OF DUTIES:

    This is a professional level position responsible for designing, implementing and managing the CVL benefits and compensation plans.  The position is responsible for ensuring the benefits and compensation plans remain competitive, support recruitment and retention efforts, and adhere to legal and regulatory requirements.  This role requires analytical skills, strategic thinking, and strong communication abilities.   

     

    SPECIFIC DUTIES

    Benefits Administration

    1.    Oversee the design, implementation and administrative of the employee benefits program – health and welfare, wellness and retirement plans.

    2.    Work with benefits broker/consultants, vendors and third-party administrator to ensure effective delivery of benefit services.

    3.    Implement approved plans or changes to existing plans by assisting with benefit announcement materials, plan summary documents and other media for communicating plans to employees.

    4.    Manage the annual open enrollment process and including creation and execution of employee communication plan.

    5.    Ensure accuracy and completeness of benefit plan rules, premium updates, plan changes, work flow processes and calculation changes.

    6.    Lead the administration and communication of the retirement plan, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

     

    Compensation Administration

    1.    Develop and administer compensation programs, including salary structures and bonus plans.

    2.    Evaluate job descriptions, job analyses and FLSA classifications.

    3.    Conduct regular market analysis to ensure compensation remains competitive.

     

    Benefits and Compensation

    1.    Evaluate and compare existing benefit and compensation plans by analyzing other plans, surveys and other sources of information.  Participate in appropriate surveys, analyzes results and makes recommendations for review.

    2.    Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations governing benefits and compensation, including ERISA, ADA, FMLA, FLSA and other federal and state regulations.

    3.    Analyze benefit and compensation plans as part of acquisition due diligence, and oversee enrollment of acquired employees into the benefit plans and compensation structure.

    QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

    1.    Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience.  CEBS, CCP, CMS and/or SPHR/PHR certification a plus.

    2.    Understanding of HR processes, policies and best practices, preferred.

    3.    5 years’ experience in benefits and compensation administration. 

    4.    Knowledge of benefits legal and regulatory requirements pertaining to FMLA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA and ERISA, required.

    5.    Knowledge of compensation legal and regulatory requirements under FLSA required.

    6.    Experience working with multiple locations and multiple states, preferred

    7.    Experience with mergers and acquisitions due diligence and integration, a plus.

    8.    Proficiency in HRIS systems is required, experience with UKG Pro and Payscale/Payfactors a plus.

    9.    Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.

    10. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    11. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data and derive actionable insights.

    12. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within deadlines.

    13. Ability to uphold the highest level of confidentiality.
