Compensation Manager leads the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, policies, and procedures. Manages common compensation functions, including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, incentive plan design, pay program administration and other associated initiatives. Being a Compensation Manager ensures that base pay, incentive pay and performance management programs remain competitive and conform to current compensation strategy. Directs data collection and analysis processes for market, pay equity, and other compensation studies. Additionally, Compensation Manager requires a bachelor's degree. May require a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Compensation Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Compensation Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Otter Products is recruiting for a Compensation Manager to join our Human Resources (AKA Otter Relations) team! This position is based at our Fort Collins, CO headquarters with the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule and can work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

     

    As the Compensation Manager, you will be responsible for the administration of compensation programs including base pay, incentives, and variable pay ensuring Otter Products achieves and maintains a competitive and internally equitable market position while complying with ever changing legislation. Additionally, you will lead compensation projects, develop internal trainings and educational documents, and oversee day-to-day compensation processes such as market pricing, job description completion and management, FLSA status determination, etcetera...!

    Responsibilities

    • Partner with leadership to design and develop the organization's compensation philosophy, compensation programs and policies ensuring they are internally equitable, externally competitive, legally compliant, and in alignment with the company’s goals, objectives, and strategies and lead their implementation.
    • Oversee and lead compensation program management and administration including but not limited to base salary, short- and long-term incentive programs (i.e., Sales Incentive, LTIC, etc.), Executive compensation, the analysis and modeling of merit and other salary increases, annual compensation survey participation and results processing, benchmarking process, etc.
    • Partner and consult with key stakeholders to manage, drive and influence the development and execution of compensation projects, processes, and initiatives such as salary structures, job leveling and FLSA exemptions.
    • Lead and participate in annual programs such as the merit, promotion, and market adjustment cycle including development of communication and training materials, pre/during/post cycle audits, reporting/analysis, configuration testing, etc.
    • Conduct market pricing and compensation best practice research, monitoring trends, and interpreting results. This includes modeling and recommending program and policy changes to remain competitive in the market.
    • Develop, maintain and update documentation for all compensation programs including training and communications to educate managers and individual contributors and answer questions about the organization's compensation programs.
    • Support and maintain a positive safety culture by being an active leader in all safety program initiatives.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree is required. Experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
    • Minimum four years of compensation experience is required.
    • Experience with administration of short- and long-term incentive plans is preferred.
    • CCP is preferred.
    • Experience in HR systems (ADP, Payfactors/Payscale, etc.) is preferred.

    USD $110,000.00/Yr.

    USD $135,000.00/Yr.
