The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is the state agency that focuses solely on policies, programs, and services for people with mental health challenges, substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or any combination of these. As Georgia’s public safety net, DBHDD operates six field offices and five hospitals throughout the state within three program areas: behavioral health, developmental disabilities and hospital services.

Job Description
Job Title: Assistant Director- Compliance and Certifications
Pay Grade: P
Job Summary:
Reporting directly to the Director of the Office of Incident Management and Compliance (OIMC) represent OIMC in all interactions with internal and external stakeholders. Provide direct oversight and supervision to Managers of Certification Units within OIMC, assist with the development and implementation of plans and goals, oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with regulations and policies, and provide effective leadership and problem solving. Provide leadership direction to crisis service related projects such as the new builds and renovations of Behavioral Health Crisis Centers. Travel responsibilities will vary depending on status of projects and reviews.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Develop and maintain thorough understanding of the work, focus, and processes of the Certification Unit within OIMC.
· Develop cursory knowledge of incident management, background checks, and all related data and applications within OIMC to support the Assistant Director of IM/IDU and the Director of OIMC.
· Work collaboratively with the Assistant Director of IM/IDU towards shared goals, problem solving, process improvement and strategic planning for OIMC.
· Use data informed decision making to inform recommendations for strategic and process-based improvements and adjustments.
· Communicate effectively with providers and other stakeholders, including other DBHDD offices and divisions.
· Maintain working knowledge of all policies and provider manuals relevant to the work.
· Represent DBHDD professionally during all interactions with providers and stakeholders.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Exceptional computer skills, including experience with Microsoft applications, especially Excel
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent customer service skills, including demonstrated ability to manage conflict professionally
· Excellent time management skills and an ability to work independently under limited supervision
