Position: Compliance Associate
Location: This position requires the applicant to be based in Chicago, IL. This is a hybrid arrangement: two days in the office and three days working remotely.

Characteristics, Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and follow-up on Monthly Compliance Report
- Schedule calendar due dates for audit responses and follow up as needed
- Maintain data in POAH Integratec (PI), including audit and claim decision information
- Update HUD MOR and REAC Scores in APPS
- Coordinate collection of EIV logs
- Track and monitor Specials Claims processing
- Respond to all claims and requests in a timely manner
- Review tenant files for completeness and accuracy
- Track resident annual recertifications to ensure timely completion
- Perform tenant data entry in state agencies’ software systems for annual compliance
- Update Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing Plans as needed
- Update Tenant Selection Plans as needed
- Remain current on new regulations, law and technology and changes to the multifamily housing programs we use in the areas of compliance and subsidy administration and communication tools/protocol
- Maintain proper confidentiality when handling sensitive matters
- Coordinate and draft responses to resident complaints; return calls to residents and prospective residents.
- Prepare reporting from Yardi and PI
- Complete other related tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- preferred experience in compliance
- experience with HUD, LIHTC and subsidy programs
- 1 to 3 years of experience in an office or administrative role
- College degree preferred
- Strong organizational skills and ability to follow through on projects to successful completion
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, including but not limited to: senior staff, site teams, residents, community partners, and vendors
- Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with accuracy and excellent attention to detail
- Highly experienced with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including the desire to ask questions of and learn from co-workers
- Excellent customer service skills
