Options for Community Living, Inc. is looking for a Compliance and Quality Coordinator to join our team! An ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in health and human services, social work or related field along with 3 years of experience working in a human services related field; at least 1 year of experience performing record or process audits or performing other quality improvement tasks. Can have a High School Diploma with at least 5 years of experience working in a human services related field; at least 3 years of experience performing record or process audits or performing other quality improvement tasks.
- Must have intermediate skills in using MS Excel, Access, and Word.
- Must have experience using Foothold (Awards) and/or Foothold Care Management electronic medical record systems, with a strong understanding of reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking, and sound judgement are required.
- Must be available to travel to sites throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties, including, but not limited to, the Hempstead and Amityville offices and the community residences.
- Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, valid auto insurance and access to a vehicle is required.

Salary Range:
$47,000/yr. ($25.82/hr.) - $60,000/yr. ($32.97/hr.)
Salary offers will be commensurate with experience and other qualifications.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (35 hours/week)
Location: In-person based out of our Ronkonkoma office.

Responsibilities:
The Compliance and Quality Coordinator is responsible for conducting various audits to ensure practices and program documentation are in compliance with applicable standards including but not limited to OMH, DOH, Health Home, Medicaid and other contracts as applicable.
- Lead investigations as assigned by the Corporate Compliance Officer by interviewing witnesses and collecting and reviewing documentation.
- Conduct regular record audits ensuring compliance with Options’ Policies, OMH, DOH, Health Home, Medicaid and other contracts as applicable.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and controls by examining and analyzing records, reports, operating practices, and documentation; recommends areas for improvement or where operational controls can be tightened.
- Complete regularly scheduled compliance checks (example: duplicate note check, billing checks, timecard checks) and summarize and distribute results to management and supervisors.
- Conduct regularly scheduled medication audits and compile log of results. Present results to supervisors, managers, and director.
- Collect, document, analyze, interpret and document information thoroughly to support audit findings.
- Identify trends resulting from the record audits; Bring major issues to the attention of the Corporate Compliance Officer for analysis.
- Identify preventative and corrective actions resulting from record audits and follow up with applicable staff through to completion.
- Provide feedback and input to ensure that medication policy and procedures are accurate and up to date and draft revisions, as needed.
- Maintain medication management training for new MH staff under the direction of Training Coordinator.
- Conduct record audits for discharged program participants. Follow up with all levels of staff to complete discharge files.
- Serve as Foothold super user. Provide regular coverage of the Foothold Help Desk.
- Serve on the Professional Record Review Committee, Incident Review Committee, and Corporate Compliance Committee.
- Other relevant tasks as assigned by management.
Physical Demands: Must be able to sit and look at a computer screen for long periods of time. Must be able to speak for periods of 15-30 minutes.
