Compliance Manager (Banking) supervises daily operations to identify and respond to suspicious activity violating current anti-money laundering (AML) regulations as defined in the US Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) or other governmental anti-terrorist financing programs. Uses oversight systems, interdiction software, and audit processes to perform daily transaction monitoring and identify suspicious activity patterns. Being a Compliance Manager (Banking) monitors activity and ensures adherence to Know your Customer (KYC) protocols and regulatory requirements for required filings and reporting. Leads investigations of suspicious activity to pursue corrective actions and ensure completion of required filings. Additionally, Compliance Manager (Banking) maintains extensive knowledge of financial regulations, risk management best practices, and changing fraudulent trends to develop and implement appropriate compliance procedures. Delivers compliance training with up-to-date regulatory information and procedures to develop and guide well-informed staff. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May have the Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification. Typically reports to a director. The Compliance Manager (Banking) supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Compliance Manager (Banking) typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.     Role:

    The Licensing and Compliance Manager plays a critical role within the organization by providing licensing compliance support to the Company and guaranteeing the Company’s compliance on all licensing compliance related activities. This role supports and establishes the development, coordination and delivery of Licensing and Compliance processes, procedures, and strategies to ensure company compliance with all state, and local regulations. The Licensing and Compliance Manager oversees Corporate, contractor and technician licensing. This role is responsible for implementing and monitoring processes and procedures, state and local compliance, regulatory rules, and making certain all tasks are being carried out efficiently and accurately. The Licensing and Compliance Manager provides operations support to the Senior Vice Presidents of Operations (SVPs), Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs), Operations Managers (Oms), and other members of the Operations team to ensure support of all matters as it relates to licensing.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Manage the Licensing department and Licensing administrators
      • Assign tasks
      • Track individual and team progress
      • Provide assistance and support as needed
      • Train, as needed on tasks
    • Identify, design, and implement process flows, create processes and training materials for all tasks in the licensing department
    • Stay updated on the policies, procedures, and state regulations related to licensing in all states and jurisdictions the Company does business and operates
    • Communicate updates on processes and state regulations related to licensing, continuing education, and permits with license holders and the operations team, while making certain the Company stays up to date with rules and codes for each jurisdiction
    • Apply and maintain all Secretary of State entities, annual reports, and corporate level licenses
    • Ensure state and local regulatory requirements and other assigned tasks are being carried out efficiently and accurately as it relates to licensing
    • Provide support to the operations team as it relates to Permits/Permitting
    • Maintain and track all bonds for the company
    • Maintain and track all certificates of Insurance for the company as well as for all licensing
    • Maintain and apply for new state level contractor licenses
    • Track, Map, and provide all required licenses for Technicians
    • Maintain all registered agents for the company, apply for new registered agents, as needed, audit and make changes as necessary
    • Ensure compliance with all licensing requirements for integrations/acquisitions
    • Provide monthly and quarterly reporting for licensing, as needed
    • Maintain and ensure quality of the databases (SM , and Licensing department trackers) for all license department procedures
    • Handle any escalations, internal and external, within the department
    • Alert upper management of any issues and provide solutions related to licensing and compliance
    • Complete and manage quarterly tracking of areas that the Company has performed work without a license and take the necessary steps to correct
    • Ensure License back-ups are in place for all state and local licenses
    • Assist contractors and Technicians with the license and testing process
    • Provide a plan of action for licensing to management, as required
    • Expand Company scope and apply for new licenses, as needed
    • Other related duties as assigned

    Education and Experience:

    • Prior management experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as business preferred
    • Previous experience in a Licensing position
    • Previous experience in HVAC industry or other service business preferred

    Physical requirements:

    • Continuously able to work in office environment
    • Continuously able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine, telephone, and computer printer
    • Continuously able to sit at a computer for up to 8 hours
    • Able to alternate between sitting and standing, as needed throughout the day
