Compliance Specialist

PURPOSE

The Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that properties managed or owned by CHIP comply with various Local, State and Federal funding programs and regulations.

PLEASE APPLY IF YOU HAVE

• Possess knowledge of HUD, LIHTC, and HOME affordable housing programs.
• Must have or obtain certifications in: LIHTC, COS (HUD), USDA, Fair Housing, Section 504, and others as required.
• The Compliance Specialist will have strong research and problem-solving skills to navigate compliance questions.
• The ability to practice efficient time management to meet frequent deadlines.

A QUALIFIED CANDIDATE WILL BE ABLE TO PERFORM THE FOLLOWING TASKS

• Conduct periodic audits throughout CHIP’s portfolio to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for each property (LIHTC, HOME, HUD, USDA, etc.). Work with site staff to correct any deficiencies identified.
• The Compliance Specialist will lead agency response to property compliance audits by Local, State, or Federal funding sources including, but not limited to RDA, LIHTC (CTCAC), HCD, CalHFA, HOME, HUD, or USDA.
• Complete Annual/Quarterly/Monthly compliance reports as required by investors, lenders, syndicators, or government funding sources.
• Conduct periodic training with staff to review program and compliance requirements.
