The Compliance Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring that Word on Fire adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. This position is responsible for overseeing compliance initiatives and implementing processes to ensure the organization's integrity and reputation.

Develop and update compliance policies and procedures under the direction of the Senior Operations Director
Assist with overseeing the contract lifecycle management process, including contract creation, execution, and renewal
Manage state registration and annual reporting filings
Ensure year-end tax compliance, including the timely filing of required tax forms and documents
Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, as necessary
Stay up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations, recommending appropriate compliance changes
Manage corporate insurance lines, ensuring appropriate coverage, and partnering with Word on Fire’s broker to ensure favorable renewals
Provide compliance training and education to employees
Assist with preparing for and responding to the annual audit
Prepare reports on compliance status and recommendations for improvement
Conduct periodic risk assessments to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability; implement corrective action plans to address identified risks
Experience with non-profit compliance matters
Familiarity with the work of Bishop Robert Barron and Word on Fire
