Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer jobs in Oklahoma City, OK
Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer programs and sets up CNC milling, lathe, or other machinery according to blueprint specifications. Reads and interprets technical blueprints and design models and inputs the product design into the computer modeling software. Being a Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer adjusts machine settings to the desired product specifications, and troubleshoots and maintains the machine. Utilizes G or M code and CAM software (MasterCAM,CAMWorks or others). Additionally, Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer tests accuracy of settings and programs. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. This posting is for a Machine Programmer responsible for programming and nesting production orders for our CNC lathe and plasma-cutting table. We utilize various softwares (TruNest, ProNest preferred) which can be learned quickly for someone familiar with various programming applications. Potential candidates should be able to function in both an office and shop floor environments, proactively address potential problems, and react to urgent needs. Role will be a minimum 40 hours a week but exact hours are flexible.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:- Ability to or familiarity with various programming/nesting software.
- Dependability, attention to detail and the ability to follow and interpret procedures.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and CAD models.
- Effective organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Technical knowledge base and the desire to learn more.
- Able to successfully multitask and meet project milestones.
- Ability to physically move heavy product and willingness to help in the shop occasionally.
- Able to proactively communicate with multiple co-workers and supervisors.
