    Overview:

    The Senior Project Manager Leads complex customer and internal projects to ensure timely, accurate and cost-effective delivery of capabilities and services.  Manages cross-functional internal teams and external vendors and contractors to accomplish strategic company goals. Manages vendors and contractors' provision of products and services associated with assigned programs and projects, to include monitoring and evaluating actual performance relative to agreed levels, verifying vendors' products and services meet quality and other specifications, ensuring vendor payments are consistent with agreed pricing for services and products delivered. Identifies actual or potential problems and resolves, or develops and presents recommendation to executive management, as appropriate.

    • Coordinates and directs projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
    • Evaluates new technology, analyzes trends, identifies resource needs, and develops and understanding of market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
    • Directs, reviews, and approves project changes.
    • Prepares project budgets and directs the negotiation of contracts.
    • Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for work performed for the project.
    • Reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services with the objective of completing the project on time, on budget and in scope.
    • Reviews and recommends or approves contracts and cost estimates.
    • Presents and explains proposals, reports, and findings, and prepares project specifications.
    • Plans, directs, and coordinates work with other staff activities.
    • Captures lessons learned and applies to future projects.
    • The Senior Level typically will oversee projects characterized by greater complexity and sensitivity and having more impact to the organization.  In addition, the Senior Level is expected to act as a resource base for peers, provide mentoring and assume a more proactive role in improving operations to meet the Company's objectives.
    • Analytical Skills - Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve complex problems.
    • Budget Management – Has the ability to plan, develop and manage budgets. Can collaborate and work with contractors, leadership, and project stakeholders to ensure budget compliance.
    • Communication, Oral and Written - Ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken word and by writing clearly and concisely.
    • Conceptual Thinking - Ability to think in terms of abstract ideas.
    • Innovative - Ability to look beyond the standard solutions.
    • Leadership - Demonstrate personal leadership in all aspects of work, lead by example, and take demonstrate strong personal accountability and ownership. Ability to develop business cases for specific initiatives; understanding business impact and be able to model impact of technology on business process.
    • Project Management and Project Budget Management- Ability to lead projects, cross functional teams, lay out projects and tasks, and drive projects through successful completion. Ability to manage project level budgets and resources, vendor and internal resource management for project execution.
    • Time Management - A strong commitment to meeting deadlines and commitments, a good understanding of all tasks needed to complete out an assignment and manage those tasks effectively to meet commitments.
    • Working Under Pressure - Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.

    Skills:

    • Can work outdoors and travel locally to visit planned and in-progress project sites.
    • Ability to work with Microsoft Office products and other programs/applications specific to client.

    Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field required.
    • Degree in electronics and/or communications engineering is preferred. PMP or PgMP certification is preferred.
    • Equivalent education, experience, and training may be substituted for the degree requirement plus six (6) years of progressively responsible professional level planning or operations experience demonstrating proficiency in design, implementation support and project management.
    • Preferred industry group experience: telecommunications, information technology, or engineering, other cross functional industry group experience in finance, provisioning, or construction will also be considered.
    • Equivalent functional experience may be considered.
    • Equivalent education and training may be substituted for experience.

    Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
