  • Creative Dining Services is seeking a Full- Time Conference & Guest Services Coordinator for the Haworth Hotel on the campus of Hope College, in Holland, Michigan. The Haworth Hotel is a 48-room boutique property that offers a fresh vibrant space to our guests and visitors. The Haworth Hotel is at the heart of Holland’s historic downtown district and Hope College’s lively campus, welcoming people worldwide for conferences, vacation stays, meetings and more.

    The Conference and Guest Services Manager is charged with the reservations and management of guest meetings and hospitality events, and overall management of the hospitality facility and staff.


    Responsibilities

    • Acts as point of contact for guest experience: answers phones and emails regarding events and meetings. Takes reservations, makes room assignments, and keeps a timely and organized calendar that cascades information to the hospitality and facility teams to ensure staff is prepared.
    • Assists the General Manager in planning, employee scheduling, and safety procedures. Will be responsible for the accurate and timely completion of logs, recording, and reporting activities.
    • Responsible to conduct an on-going analysis of the account operations, and recommend operational changes to the General Manager as required.
    • Ensures that all company and account purchasing policies and procedures are followed.
    • Checks on room set-ups, audio-visual, and special requests to assure space is properly configured per guest, and that amenities are as ordered.


    Physical Demands/Work Environment

    The Conference and Guest Services Coordinator is a working position that involves the physical work of running a conference center and maintaining the operations of the unit based on the staffing, budget, and customer service requirements. These responsibilities include moving inventory, products, carts, tables, etc. as well as food preparation and production using kitchen utensils and commercial kitchen equipment. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. The environment may include hot, humid, or cold temperatures. May require extended working hours at times.

    Education

    • Minimum of two years administrative experience
    • Experience in hospitality environments
    • Proven superior customer relations skills are required
    • Proficient in basic math (multiplication, computing yields/conversations/etc.)
    • Microsoft Office proficiency. Google Suite proficiency preferred.
