    The Campus Events and Conference Services department at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications to fill a full-time Campus Events and Conferences Services (CECS) Coordinator.

    Compensation: $50,000 - $54,000 commensurate with experience plus full New York State benefits package.

    Description of Responsibilities:

    • In consultation with the Assistant Director of Campus Events, responsible for the recruitment, scheduling, supervision, payroll and mentorship of student event set-up staff and Welcome Center staff, including two Graduate Assistants.
    • Work collaboratively with the Assistant Director for Conference Services & Youth Policy Compliance to ensure compliance of the SUNY-wide Child Protection Policy, the Policy on Mandatory Prevention and Reporting of Child Sexual Abuse and other SUNY policies pertaining to youth protection by monitoring and providing on-site support to youth programs and activities that use campus facilities.
    • Advise and assist student organizations on event logistics planning including available facilities, services, supporting equipment appropriate for the size and nature of the event, ticketing, etc.
    • Maintain a working knowledge of the student handbook and Facility Use policy as it relates to scheduling and events and advise student and other organization planners about campus policies and procedures related to their event.
    • Management of day-to-day student organization reservation requests entered in EMS scheduling software.
    • Respond to student organization event inquiries through the shared reservation email account.
    • Provides on-site supervision and oversight of campus events including summer camps & conferences as assigned by the Director and/or Assistant Directors.
    • Maintain a working user knowledge of audio-visual equipment such as smart TVs, laptops, projectors, etc. in collaboration with Campus Technology Services.
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive student employee training program.
    • Oversee Marano Campus Center mailroom operations.
    • Maintain a high level of professionalism and involvement in supporting events and engagement initiatives in a fast-paced, variable environment.
    • Cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, community members, and alumni.
    • Multitask and prioritize responsibilities daily.
    • Contribute to the accomplishment of strategic goals of the department, division, and university through committee involvement and by completing other tasks, as assigned.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree
    • A minimum of 1 year working experience in event coordination and production, program planning and implementation, student affairs, or a related field.
    • A commitment to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility resources.
    • Demonstrated integrity, an initiative-taking problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, variable environment, maintain confidentiality, and exercise independent judgment.
    • Willingness and ability to work variable non-traditional hours (evenings and weekends) based on event schedules.
    • Initiative-taking and able to work independently.
    • Strong attention to detail and a high level of organization.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in higher education administration, college student personnel, or a related field.
    • 2-4 years working experience in student affairs or a related field.
    • Prior experience in an event service, youth program, or hospitality service setting.
    • Experience with Event Management Systems, or similar space reservation platform.
    • Effective organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
    • Knowledge of and ability to understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
