Conservation Technician maintains the authenticity and overall appearance of art objects. Conducts analysis to determine appropriate method for cleaning and repairing objects. Being a Conservation Technician may require an associate's degree or its equivalent and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Conservation Technician relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Program Description:
The SCA is seeking a motivated SCA member to assist with Urban Forestry Service work in Stamford Connecticut. SCA Members will serve in Environmental Justice Communities in Stamford Downton and Mill River Park Collaborative.
The primary duties of this position will include:
This position will generally require walking up to 5 miles per day over uneven and improved terrain, working in urban parks and natural spaces while working in a small team based setting. The service work will be physically demanding at times and may include repetitive tasks associated with the care of existing trees on a recurring basis.
This position is ideal for someone with a can-do attitude, who can solve problems and work as part of a team. We're looking for someone who is willing to work hard, and who can get the job done safely and with minimal instruction. This position is a good match for someone interested in pursuing a career in Urban and Community Forestry.
