Job Summary: Waters Construction has a career opportunity for a Construction Materials Testing Technician to work with our Heavy Civil and Paving Divisions. As a CME, you will be responsible for testing and materials used in construction projects, ensuring they meet the necessary specifications and quality standards. You will also be responsible for monitoring and inspecting ongoing construction projects to ensure compliance with local and federal regulations. The selected candidate will be required to work in a team environment with their co-workers and managers. Our core values are safe, smart, positive, and respectful. The CME. Technician will report directly to the Paving division.

What You’ll Do:

• Safely and efficiently work in a quality control capacity and report any problems to the supervisor in a timely fashion.
• Responsible for collecting, measuring, and testing of materials for construction projects including hot mix asphalt, soils sampling, aggregate sampling, core sampling, density testing, laboratory testing and mix design.
• Properly follow all company policies and OSHA regulations.
• Be able to work overtime when required.
• Strictly adhering to safety requirements and procedures.
• Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving equipment and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.

What You’ll Need:

• High school diploma / GED equivalent. Undergraduate Degree preferred.
• New England Transportation Technician Certification in HMA field/plant is desirable but will train.
• 1 year experience in quality control testing required or related field.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Detail oriented.
• Basic math skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
