JOB DESCRIPTION: Construction Project Coordinator

By joining KO Construction you’ll support relationships with key stakeholders and draft benchmarks for successful deliverables. 

1. Project Planning Support: Project Coordinators assist in the development of project plans by gathering and organizing project requirements, milestones, and timelines. They help create project schedules, work breakdown structures, and other planning documents under the guidance of the project manager.
2. Documentation Management: Project Coordinators are responsible for maintaining project documentation and records. This includes organizing project files, tracking document versions, and ensuring that project documentation is up-to-date and accessible to team members as needed.
3. Coordination and Communication: Project Coordinators schedule and coordinate project meetings, including stakeholder meetings, and status update meetings. They assist in preparing meeting agendas, recording meeting minutes, and distributing meeting notes to relevant parties to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
4. Task Tracking and Follow-Up: Project Coordinators track project tasks and milestones, monitor progress against the project schedule, and follow up with team members to ensure timely completion of deliverables. They may use project management software to maintain task lists, update project status, and generate progress reports for the project manager.
5. Risk and Issue Management: Project Coordinators assist in identifying project risks and issues by gathering input from team members and stakeholders. They help document and resolve risks and issues, track mitigation efforts, and escalate unresolved issues to the project manager for further action to ensure that potential problems are addressed promptly and effectively.

REPORTS TO: Construction Operation Manager 

HOURS: Full-Time, Monday through Friday 

WORK LOCATION: Minnetonka, MN (In-Person)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Provide project coordination for new construction projects, facility expansion activities and capital improvements
• With supervision of project manager, you will source, manage, and provide quality control of subcontractors for all work pertinent to construction projects including, but not limited to: 

        o Preliminary planning and budgeting

        o Civil / Site Design

        o Survey work, Permitting, zoning, land disturbance and variances 

        o Site prep, earthwork, and excavation 

        o Concrete, electrical, hvac, fencing/gates, asphalt/concrete

        o Close out punch list documentation and execution

• ·Review civil, structural, and stormwater management plans with project manager
• Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
• Coordinate on-site activity: materials staging, site management and access
• Work closely with jobsite personnel to ensure project milestones and other requirements are clear and documented 
• Support the invoicing of assigned projects and construction draws as necessary 

Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
• Construction Management interest
• Project Management background 
• Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and Smart Sheets/GANTT’s
• An Associates or Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in one of the following or related areas: Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Sourcing/Bidding
• Driver's License (Required) 
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer 
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times 
• Some travel required
