Construction Foreman directly supervises workers' day-to-day work on construction or installation projects. Coordinates subcontractor scheduling and the delivery and placement of on-site materials and equipment as required to execute each project phase. Being a Construction Foreman monitors productivity and work quality to meet schedules and standards. Troubleshoots any issues involving workers, contractors, safety, quality, changes, or processes and expedites solutions. Additionally, Construction Foreman completes or tracks daily time and labor reports. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Construction Foreman supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Construction Foreman typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. The Medford operation seeks an experienced foreman to oversee the construction of public and private heavy civil projects. You'll help the Field Superintendent plan and manage the project for labor, subcontractors, materials, trucking with attention to safety, quality, regulatory compliance and to maximize profitability.
Major job duties include:
1. Assist with layout and develop daily project plan and schedule.
2. Communicate daily schedule to crew.
3. Manage progress of project to meet deadlines, looking out 3 weeks.
4. Review cost, quantity and utilization reports for efficient use of labor and equipment.
5. Enter and submit employee labor hours daily.
6. Complete necessary paperwork to document project progress.
7. Coordinate with subcontractors for scheduling work.
8. Work with the plant and dispatcher for material, trucking and labor needs.
9. Be the team leader by providing coaching and leadership to crew.
10. Ensure compliance with company safety program and applicable regulations.
11. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. 3 years of experience in heavy-highway construction with supervisory experience.
2. Effectively communicate and build relationships with team, agencies, customers and company leadership.
3. Skilled at prioritizing tasks with strong organizational abilities.
4. Thorough understanding of regulatory compliance requirements.
5. Work well under pressure with tight deadlines.
6. Proficient operating iPad and web-based applications.
7. Current driver's license with good driving record.
9. Flexibility with schedule and ability to work overtime.
