Construction Foreman directly supervises workers' day-to-day work on construction or installation projects. Coordinates subcontractor scheduling and the delivery and placement of on-site materials and equipment as required to execute each project phase. Being a Construction Foreman monitors productivity and work quality to meet schedules and standards. Troubleshoots any issues involving workers, contractors, safety, quality, changes, or processes and expedites solutions. Additionally, Construction Foreman completes or tracks daily time and labor reports. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Construction Foreman supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Construction Foreman typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Duties:
- Oversee and manage construction projects from start to finish
- Coordinate and communicate with clients, contractors, and subcontractors
- Develop project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications
- Review and interpret project schematics and blueprints
- Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure quality control and adherence to safety regulations
- Manage project documentation, including contracts, permits, and change orders
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during constructionSkills:
- Strong time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficient in reading and interpreting construction schematics and blueprints
- Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with various stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously
