About the Job:

Position is responsible for performing a wide variety of construction activities requiring little or no experience or independent judgment. The Laborer is the first level of an eight-level construction series.  The Laborer is an entry level position which performs routine labor and maintenance duties and requires no specific craft skills

What we are Looking For:

Required Skills/Abilities: 

• Operating light maintenance equipment.
• Cleaning tools and equipment.
• Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction. 
• Valid Driver’s License preferred

Education/Experience: 

• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.)
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties such as those listed above.   

Physical Requirements: 

• Positions in this class typically require climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, driving, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
• Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions and intense noises.
• Heavy Work:  Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
