Job Role & Summary

As a newly established extension of SERVPRO Restoration, SERVPRO Construction is searching for a Construction Laborer to join our team! As the Construction Laborer, aka Handyman Runner, you will play a crucial role in providing essential support for completing routine project management tasks, undertaking repairs, and handling diverse practical assignments within our reconstruction assignments. Our ideal candidate is a proactive and adaptable individual who can efficiently manage various maintenance and repair tasks, contributing to the operational integrity and timely completion of our reconstruction projects.

Responsibilities

General Cleanup

• Picking up debris
• Running necessary materials to/from the jobsite
• Conducting basic punch list items and tasks on properties undergoing reconstruction
• Ensuring the proper functioning of company equipment and tools

Additional Responsibilities

• Stretching carpet
• Completing casing work
• Loading/unloading, setup/takedown of equipment

Qualifications

• Ability and desire to perform manual labor and follow directions
• Previous experience in a fast-paced environment is ideal, but not required
• Demonstrated ability to work with other people
• Ability to read, write, and speak English

Physical Expectations

• Ability to life a minimum of 50 pounds regularly
• Occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Ability to climb ladders, work at ceiling heights, work in tight spaces (eg crawl spaces and attics)
• Ability to sit/stand/walk for prolonged periods of time
• Approx 85% of time requires standing/walking
• Standard shifts are 8-10 hours
• Ability to repetitively push/pull/light/carry objects
• Ability to work with/around cleaning products/chemicals

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Ability to Relocate:

• Grand Rapids, MI: Relocate before starting work (Required)
