Construction Loan Officer sources and structures construction loans. Performs a due diligence review of potential borrowers, including risk and financial analysis. Being a Construction Loan Officer analyzes applicants' credit and financial status and obtains property appraisals to determine the feasibility of granting loans. Develops relationships with builders and developers to obtain referrals and future lending opportunities. Additionally, Construction Loan Officer structures construction loan terms and conditions according to policies. Approves loans within authorized limits or refers them to a loan committee for approval. May disburse loan proceeds at designated project mile. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Construction Loan Officer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. - Develop referral sources for purchase and refinance mortgages from realtors, builders, professional and personal contacts
- Build rapport, analyze financial situations, determine the appropriate loan product to meet clients' goals, and submit a preliminary loan package for processing
- Achieve sales and referral goals
- Develop a positive client experience consistently
- Recommend loan solutions per lending guidelines and client requirements
- Manage a portfolio of customer relationships effectively
- Seek prospective opportunities to retain and/or develop new clients
Competencies- Proactively seek ways to develop and expand referral network relationships to achieve sales goals
- Desire to maximize personal productivity through attention to detail, self-motivation, and adaptability
- Actively participate in opportunities to expand knowledge, influence others, and maintain continuing education
Education and Experience- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in residential mortgage sales
- 2 years of retail, residential mortgage sales experience
- Documented success with residential purchase/refinance mortgage loans preferred
- Established relationships with local referral networks
- The successful candidate must meet and comply with all requirements outlined in the SAFE Act, including, but not limited to, the successful completion of the required background checks and obtaining a Unique Identifier from the NMLS
