POSITION DESCRIPTION:
CORE is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to assist the Lead Superintendent with on-site coordination for all phases of construction on large-scale commercial projects in Flagstaff, AZ. The candidate will be responsible for all onsite activities of a construction project ranging from start-up to punch-out, including:
· Coaching subcontractors on safe construction practices
· Evaluating quality control, ensuring all subcontractor deficiencies are corrected
· Maintaining the project schedule and establishing the critical path for subs and vendors
· Facilitating and encouraging subcontractor coordination
· Working with design team and owner to overcome challenges / unforeseen conditions
· Reviewing all drawings, specifications and submittals
· Assisting with daily progress reports and weekly schedule updates
The Assistant Superintendent’s primary duty is to facilitate the successful construction of the project on site from beginning to completion while utilizing CORE’s best practices in safety, quality, schedule and cost while maintaining relationships with both our trade partners and our clients. These projects are often for a wide range of institutional clients, including colleges, universities, K-12 districts, municipalities, healthcare systems and more. The projects may range from $10K to over $100 million in construction costs.
This is an exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act and the employee is not eligible for overtime compensation.
Candidate Qualifications:
· Minimum of two years of construction experience
· Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
· Experience with subcontractor and construction sequencing
· Understanding of ASI’s, RFI’s and Material Submittals
· Technology: Preferred experience with Microsoft Office, MS Project and Procore
· Experience with CMAR and/or Design/Build delivery methods
· Must work well in a team environment and be committed to client service
· Must be willing to travel within the state of Arizona
· A valid Driver’s License
