Construction Control Representative (Electrical)
  • US Army Installation Management Command

  • Duties

    • Perform electrical inspections for all activities and organizations on the installation.
    • Oversee contract work on electrical components attached to the installation electrical grid.
    • Assure that safe operating procedures are followed by the contractor, and that safety regulations are observed.
    • Assist project designers, engineers, and architects, and participates in various design charrettes to ensure final design plans are in compliance with all appropriate electrical guidelines and regulations.
    • Serve as principal quality assurance representative and Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) with responsibility for technical administration, inspection, control and acceptance of assigned work performed under contract.
    • Consolidates and prepares material for progress reports and pay estimates.

    • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
    • Position requires the incumbent to pass a pre-employment physical.
    • Position requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, as well as the ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and stairs. Testing will include ability to stand, walk, crawl, stoop, and bend for long periods of time.
    • Must have a valid state driver's license.
    • Must obtain and maintain the National Certification Program Construction Code Inspectors Program certification (specifically 2A-One, Two Family, 2B-General Knowledge and 2C-Plan Review within 180 days.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.     Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Interpreting plans and specifications for construction projects; 2) Conducting inspections of all construction phases to ensure compliance with contract schedules, specifications and shop drawings; 3) Monitoring contractors for proper execution of safety regulations and programs; 4) Identifying potential problem areas during the construction process and resolving ore recommending solutions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
