Field Supervisor - Commercial Construction

  • Raineri Construction is seeking an experienced individual to successfully perform the role of Field Supervisor for our Building Division.


    Starting salary range is from 75K to 85K, based on experience.

    The Field Supervisor works directly with the Operations Manager to produce successful projects by planning, organizing, and supervising all self-perform work activities, evaluating and coordinating equipment requirements, and managing company field personnel.  The Field Supervisor ensures that safety, quality, cost control, schedule, and Raineri standards, including compliance with project specifications and applicable laws and regulations, are achieved at each job siteThe ideal candidate will have proven leadership & supervisoral skills and a tenured background as a Construction Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.  


    Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


    • Accomplish staffing objectives by interviewing, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining internal trade labor staff for all job sites.


    • Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; reviewing and recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.


    • Keep and maintain records of attendance of all field carpenters and laborers through the company timecard process.


    • Collect, verify for accuracy, and submit timecards and any other documents required for weekly payroll.


    • Work with project superintendents in developing the project schedule for self-perform work and update as required.


    • Meet operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; and identifying management system improvements.


    • Meet construction budget by monitoring project labor expenditures, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions.


    • Accomplish construction project results by reviewing project purpose and scope; calculating resources required; establishing standards and protocols; allocating resources; scheduling and coordinating staffing.


    • Ensure project compliance and prevent interruptions through code and compliance enforcement.


    • Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and strictly enforcing safety standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.


    • Facilitate “Toolbox Safety Meetings" and correct unsafe acts of employees with on-the-spot instruction.


    • Follow protocols for injury/incident management and documentation, including all necessary reporting and documenting lost time injuries in Procore Incident Reports.


    • Maintain stock of required PPE and distribute as needed to project staff.


    • Maintain stock of company tools and keep accurate records of current inventory and location via company software.


    • Monitor condition of company tools and arrange for repair or replacement as needed.


    • Work closely with Human Resources to ensure accurate employee records, including time keeping, discipline measures and infractions are documented and maintained per company policy.


    • Work with management to ensure accurate and timely messaging and communications are distributed to the field, and any required responses and/or data is captured.


    • Coordinate with Building Operations Manager on safety training certifications that may be required or requested.


    Required Qualifications:


    • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Superintendent or an Assistant Superintendent, OR
    • 10 years as Foreman with substantial supervisorial experience.
    • Intermediate or above ability to operatate standard and common software ( MS Office Suite) on a computer with little to no supervision or training.
      • High proficiency using Outlook, Word and Excel.
      • Procore experience preferred but not required.
    • GED/High School Diploma.
    • Has completed, or will complete within 60 days, the OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety Course.
    • Valid driver's license with a recent clean driving record.

    • Strong understanding of construction costs, scheduling, and quality.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and quality focus.
    • Highly organized and punctual.
    • Ability to analyze, draft and prepare cost projections for self-perform work.
    • Ability to deliver materials, tools, and equipment to project sites via truck or trailer.
    • Willingness to learn and utilize technology applications.


    Physical Requirements:


    • Able to traverse uneven walking/working surfaces at jobsites.
    • Able to climb stairs at jobsites.
    • Able to climb ladders up to 30 feet in height at jobsites.
    • Able to wear all required personal protective equipment as necessary.
    • Able to occasionally lift, up to 75 pounds.
