    Description

    SUMMARY:  This position entails the monitoring and maintenance of Symitar systems, task automation, and internal software deployment into these systems. Additionally, the System Analyst may be required to assist with the facilitation of 3rd party systems. Further functions this position may be responsible for include report writing, database maintenance, development, and related server maintenance. The System Analyst will work closely with other departments within the credit union to gather request specifications and create deliverable solutions to assist in the day to day function of core credit union software and systems.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Symitar (Primary Responsibility)

    • Periodic Maintenance of Symitar and AIX host server
      • Client Release Updates
      • Service Pack Updates
      • Package Updates
      • AIX/Server updates
      • Appropriately plan and time updates and reboots to ensure minimal system interruption to the credit union and its members
      • Creating/Reloading Backups as needed
      • Job and or System Optimization
    • Symitar Jobs
      • Create, Maintain, and Optimize Symitar Jobs as needed
    • Deployment of Development Specfiles
      • Ensure all deployment requests have completed required review steps
      • Review deployment request code for unexpected anomalies or impacts (code review)
    • Communicate effectively with Jack Henry and Associates when Symitar issues arise that need ticketed assistance

    OpCon Automation Software (Primary Responsibility)

    • Create, Optimize, Monitor, and/or Repair automation tasks scheduled through OpCon
      • Ensure scheduled jobs complete as required
      • Investigate and repair failed jobs
      • Creation of new automation solutions to internal credit union requests
      • Creation and Maintenance of OpCon self-service buttons for internal usage
    • Periodic Maintenance of OpCon client software, agent software, 3rd party integrated software, and related host servers
      • Appropriately time and install updates and reboots to ensure minimal system interruption
    • Effectively communicate the failure of impactful OpCon jobs to the organization and management team as required

     

     

    Project Management (Primary Responsibility)

    • The creation and maintenance of project documentation, including but not limited to:
      • Statements of Work
      • Discovery Docs
      • Scopes of Work
      • Project Plans
      • Project Timelines
    • Facilitate Discovery meetings in order to collect information regarding a projects goal.
    • Bring large scale processing/organizational decisions back to appropriate leadership for discussion prior to execution.
    • Clearly communicate delays or disruptions to project timelines prior to deadlines

    Reporting

    • Creation and deployment of reports or extracts from credit union data systems
    • Debugging and re-deployment of existing reports or extracts as required
    • Creation of external datasets for import into credit union data warehouse(s)

    Other

    • Assist the rest of the Information Systems department with help desk calls / tickets
    • Identify, investigate, and correct any underlying issues in credit union systems
    • Compliance with OFAC, and the Bank Secrecy Act

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s Degree majoring in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or another closely related field. 
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience. 
    • Relevant professional work experience may be considered a substitution for other requirements, at the credit union’s discretion.

    High School Diploma and a minimum of 2 year experience and/or training in a core data processing environment. College Education in technical field can be substituted for experience. Solid technical knowledge of HP OpenVMS, Microsoft Windows 2003, Windows 2008, Windows 7, Microsoft Office, Intersystems CACHE, USERS Datasafe, Imagesoft Nautilus Imaging System, and a host of office Automation/decision support tools desired.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, members, and the general public.
