As the Lending Officer, you will be responsible for the lending function of the credit union, and report directly to the MECU Vice President. Some of your responsibilities will include managing the day-to-day operations and performance of the lending portfolio, which is 60% real estate secured. The Lending Officer will originate, process, and underwrite loans. You will also work in conjunction with local auto dealerships and mortgage brokers.
The Lending Officer will ensure an effective and efficient review process of loan applications by establishing loan policies, procedures, and external regulatory and statutory compliance requirements while working within an approved credit authority. The Lending Officer will generate and review loan performance reports to achieve organizational goals. As the primary lending personnel, the Lending Officer will also need to update and implement policies as needed.
The Lending Officer should be well-versed in branch operations, as they may occasionally be called on to assist in other services and frontline activities.

Qualified candidates will have 5 years of consumer lending experience, including real estate lending and collections work. They should be up to date on regulatory and compliance issues within these areas. Candidates should embrace the credit union’s philosophy of “people helping people.” A bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required.
