Theater Manager Job Description
Responsibilities for Theater House
-
Secure space before and after events
- Security throughout the day and access to unsupervised students
- Support the building key system
- Work with maintenance on key system, access and security process
- Maintain house lighting including maintenance, work orders for repairs, third party repairs, replacement and safety of lighting.
- Manage parts and orders for lighting repairs
- Secure light and sound boards
- Create systems for programming and monitoring their use by students and 3rd party contracts
- Secure technology such as amps, power sources and electrical panels
- Maintain, secure and keep sound booth clean
- Establish best sound practices for performances
- Keep seating and theater clean and free of food
- Manage seat repairs with district maintenance
- Create and maintain an inventory list of house resources
- Manage portable speaker systems
- Support and provide tech support for mobile events
- Manage carpet cleaning and replacement
- Request and facilitate all needed safety inspections
- Provide input and purchase recommendations for software
- Manage the video and projection system
- Manage facility schedule
- Facilitate multiple events happening at one time
- Delegate secretarial and usage management
- Delegate promotional materials, online promotion, website with calendar

Responsibilities for Stage

Store, inventory and provide maintenance on wireless systems
- Store, inventory and provide maintenance on cables and wiring
- Conduct, inspect and provide oversight to rigging, ropes, brakes and weights
- Must have knowledge of rigging safety and best practices
- Schedule any and all safety inspections
- Secure doors to catwalk and entrances to stage
- Maintain managers office and secure paperwork
- Responsible of all repairs, replacement and mounting of stage lighting
- Schedule curtain IFR and provide protocols for fire safety
- Lead installation of stage shell
- Maintain shell and cart for moving shell
- Manage work orders with maintenance for mechanical repairs or 3rd party stage repairs
- Manage and lead pit movement and use
- Manage and clean sound walls
- Manage and maintain house speaker systems and related catwalk tech
Responsibilities for Stage Craft Room
-
Support use of Rocket Center resources such as sound board, light board and microphones
- Support supervision of students
- Work with Fine Arts department to make sure supervision is maximized
- Help with building and sage techniques, processes and design elements
- Keep providing students with best practices in the industry to provide trained students beyond R-P
- Train students with teachers on all aspects of show production including lights, sound, staging, transitions, teardown, safety and effects.
- Manage scene shop schedule
- Manage scene shop materials
- Monitor safety protocols and equipment usage
- Establish inventory, usage processes and too management
- Secure space through outdoor access and key access
- Work with maintenance on repairs, storage and mechanical needs
- Create system for electrical to be shut down when not in use
- Manage all repairs to equipment and facility
Responsibilities for Performances

Open and unlock Balcony doors
- Open and unlock Bathrooms
- Open and unlock Rocket Center main floor seating
- Support box office processes and seat assignments
- Secure light, sound and production resources
- Promote theater safety for guests
Other Responsibilities
-
Provide technical support to building and district events both at the Rocket Center and other sites.
- Work with the principal on all building usage needs in the Rocket Center
- Support building key security system and follow established procedures through principal’s office
- Report to the principal
- Other duties assigned by supervising principal
Compensation:
-
The position of Theater Manager is a non-affiliated position
- Theater Manager wage or rate will be negotiable and will be determined based on experience and hours of assignment
- Benefits are negotiable for this position based on experience and hours of assignment.
